ABOUT OUR GUESTS

Sally Burkes introduction to the ministry in 1990 was life changing. Compelled by joy and the hope God gave as she prayed with others for her children and their schools, Sally began to reach out and share with other momsfirst as a Moms in Prayer group leader, then area coordinator for her hometown of Temecula, California, and later as regional coordinator for Riverside County. In 2008, Sally became the Director of Field Ministry at Moms in Prayer headquarters, overseeing ministry expansion worldwide. Today, in her role as President of Moms in Prayer International, her vision remains unchanged, that more children and schools and moms might experience Gods life-changing answers to prayer. Sally is also an international speaker, teacher and author of Raise Them UpStart with PraiseUnshaken and the Unshaken Study Guide.

As a child growing up in Florida, Sally was fascinated with the space program and began her career as a space shuttle engineer with a Master of Science in Management. After her marriage and the birth of two children, Sally and her husband came to faith in Christ, and Moms in Prayer soon became a top priority. She and husband, Ed, now have four grown children, two sons-in-law, two daughters-in-law and five grandchildren. In her leisure time, youll find Sally on a walk/run, curled up with a good book or enjoying the company of friends.

How to Help Your Child Think Biblically | Elizabeth Urbanowicz

The culture around us puts many good things around us, but a lot of times we let them crowd out the most important thinghelping our kids seek God through His Word. Elizabeth Urbanowicz, CEO of Foundation Worldview, helps us as Christian parents to equip our children in the Word of God and to carefully discern every idea they encounter. She shares proactive tools we can use to do this as busy moms and how to incorporate them into our childrens day. We dont have to be fearful about what our kids are facing. They can learn how to think critically and biblically.

The Moms in Prayer Podcast is a part of the Christian Parenting Podcast Network. To find practical and spiritual advice to help you grow into the parent you want to be visit ChristianParenting.org

ABOUT OUR GUEST

Elizabeth Urbanowicz is a follower of Jesus Christ and passionate about equipping kids to understand the truth of the Christian worldview. She holds a B.S. in Elementary Education and Spanish, an M.S.Ed in Literacy Education, and an M.A. in Christian Apologetics from Biola University. Elizabeth began her professional career as an elementary teacher in a Christian school. Several years into her teaching experience, she realized that despite being raised in Christian homes, attending a Christian school, and being active in church, her students thought more like the culture than like Christ. She created curricular materials that would equip her students to think critically, helping them discover that Christianity is the worldview that lines up with reality. Elizabeth now works full-time on developing comparative worldview and apologetics resources for children. Her goal is to prepare the next generation to be lifelong critical thinkers and, most importantly, lifelong disciples of Jesus Christ.

SCRIPTURES

The Lord said to her, Two nations are in your womb, and two peoples from within you will be separated; one people will be stronger than the other, and the older will serve the younger. Genesis 25:23 NIV

For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. Ephesians 2:8-9 ESV

So Jacob served seven years for Rachel, and they seemed to him but a few days because of the love he had for her. Genesis 29:20 ESV

Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap. For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life. Galatians 6:7-8 ESV

You then, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. 2 Timothy 2:1 NIV

3 Ways to Support Your Marriage | Dannah Gresh

When it comes to battling things in the spiritual realm, we have two weapons. One is the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God, and then we have prayer. And when you strap those weapons together, you have dynamite. Bestselling author, speaker, and founder of True Girl, Dannah Gresh, talks about the importance of prayer, Gods Word and community in the midst of marital difficulties. God CAN help you redeem the broken places of your marriage!

The Moms in Prayer Podcast is a part of the Christian Parenting Podcast Network. To find practical and spiritual advice to help you grow into the parent you want to be visit ChristianParenting.org

SCRIPTURES

But among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or of greed, because these are improper for Gods holy people. Ephesians 5:3 NIV

Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. Psalm 119:105 NKJV

Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them. Matthew 18:19-20 NKJV

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might. Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist on the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm. Stand firm therefore, having belted your waist with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having strapped on your feet the preparation of the gospel of peace; in addition to all, taking up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. And take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. With every prayer and request, pray at all times in the Spirit, and with this in view, be alert with all perseverance and every request for all the saints. Ephesians 6:10-18 NASB

All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort. He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us. 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 NLT

Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective. James 5:16 NIV

Yes, you came when I called; you told me, Do not fear. Lord, you have come to my defense; you have redeemed my life. Lamentations 3:57-58 NLT
